According to the Lagos State Commissioner for Energy, Biodun Ogunleye, the government is collaborating with relevant authorities to uncover the details surrounding the attack.

He emphasized that such an act of aggression would not be tolerated.

“This attack is unacceptable and will not be tolerated in Lagos,” Ogunleye stated. He further stressed that the well-being of all citizens, including employees of electricity distribution companies, remains a top priority for the state.

The assault was allegedly triggered by the disconnection of power supply to the Sam Ethnan Air Force Base due to unpaid electricity bills.

In retaliation, armed military officers reportedly stormed the headquarters, causing destruction and disrupting operations.

The estimated damage amounts to millions of Naira, and the attack has sparked outrage among residents and stakeholders.

The Lagos government has vowed to ensure justice for all victims and prevent future occurrences.

Ogunleye assured the public that thorough investigations would be carried out, and those responsible would face the consequences of their actions.

“The Lagos government is working closely with relevant authorities to investigate this incident thoroughly and ensure that justice is served,” he said.

Furthermore, the commissioner called on all parties to resolve disputes lawfully rather than resorting to violence and intimidation.

He urged the Nigerian Air Force leadership to take immediate steps to prevent a recurrence, emphasizing that such incidents undermine public trust in security institutions.

While the Lagos government acknowledges the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship with all stakeholders, including the armed forces, Ogunleye insisted that resorting to violence was completely unacceptable.

Meanwhile, residents of Lagos and Ogun States have expressed concerns over the disruption of power supply following the incident.

The Lagos government has assured residents that necessary measures are being put in place to restore normalcy.

As investigations continue, stakeholders have urged transparency in the probe and accountability for those responsible.

The outcome of this investigation is expected to set a precedent for handling future conflicts between security agencies and service providers.
