In a move that has stunned many Nigerians, Fuji music legend Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, also known as Kwam 1, has been blacklisted by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) for six months.
This shocking development followed his alleged unruly behavior at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
According to Naija News, the decision was announced on Thursday during a press briefing by Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection.
“As we speak, the passenger is going to be blacklisted for the next six months flying in Nigeria,” Achimugu stated.
He continued, “Everybody involved in this will be brought to book.”
Achimugu emphasized that Nigeria’s aviation safety laws apply equally to every passenger, regardless of social status or political ties.
“Aviation rules are made for everybody, for the protection of everybody. These rules are global,” he added.
When asked about Ayinde’s close relationship with President Bola Tinubu, Achimugu responded clearly.

“The President, as well as the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, are committed to the rule of law. No individual, regardless of status, is exempt from due process.”
Achimugu also revealed that the NCAA is currently writing to the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police.
The goal is to initiate legal proceedings concerning the Wasiu Ayinde airport incident, which reportedly disrupted flight operations.
In a related action, two ValueJet pilots have been suspended following a safety violation linked to the same flight.
Preliminary findings show they began departure procedures without pre-departure clearance, posing serious risks at the airport.
This breach reportedly followed a commotion involving Kwam 1 on board.
As Naija News reports, Kwam 1 was allegedly seen drinking from a flask aboard the aircraft.
A flight attendant raised concerns, believing the liquid might be alcohol.
According to a statement from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Kwam 1 ignored several warnings from Aviation Security (AVSEC) and the captain.
“The contents were spilt on a security officer during verification and later confirmed to be alcohol,” FAAN said.
Kwam 1 has since denied the claims, calling them exaggerated and misleading.
“The substance was plain drinking water given to me at the airport lounge while waiting to board. It was not alcohol,” he said in his own statement released Thursday.
