Iran has indicated it may halt its military actions under certain conditions. However, the move depends on whether attacks against the country are stopped.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, made the position clear in a public message. He said, “If attacks against Iran are halted, our powerful armed forces will cease their defensive operations.”
The comment suggests that Iran is open to de-escalation. However, it also shows that any pause in military action remains conditional.
Meanwhile, Araghchi revealed that safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz could be maintained for two weeks. This, he explained, would be done in coordination with Iran’s armed forces, despite technical limits.
This development is significant because the Strait of Hormuz is a key global shipping route. Therefore, any stability in that region could nease pressure on global energy markets.
In addition, Iran has presented a detailed 10-point plan aimed at ending the conflict. According to state media, the proposal outlines several major demands.
These include guarantees that Iran will not be attacked again. Furthermore, it calls for recognition of its right to enrich uranium.
The proposal also demands the removal of US sanctions. Moreover, it seeks the withdrawal of US military forces from the region.
Other points include compensation payments and the end of international resolutions against Iran. Meanwhile, Tehran insists on maintaining control over the Strait of Hormuz.
Although full details were not publicly released, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed the plan would guide negotiations.
On the other hand, the United States has responded cautiously. President Donald Trump had earlier announced a two-week pause in military action. He described Iran’s proposal as a “workable basis” for talks.
However, uncertainty remains over whether both sides can reach a lasting agreement.
