Imo Assembly Speaker, Kennedy Ibe removed

The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Kennedy Ibe, was removed and was replaced on Monday.Emeka Nduka representing Ehime Mbano was his replacement

The former Imo assembly speaker’s decision came after wide consultation with family and political associates.Ibe stated that his resignation as the Speaker of the House of Assembly is also in the best interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC) political family in Imo State.

Nduka was elected during a closed door special sitting by the Deputy Speaker, Mr Amarachi Iwuanyanwu (APC – Nwangele), who called for nominations after reading the letter of resignation.The new Speaker was nominated by the Majority Leader, Mr Kanayo Onyemaechi (APC Owerri West), and seconded by Dr Uju Onwudiwe (APC – Njaba).
