Four sweet sensation eatery staff moved to court for alleged theft of 2.5m

Four staffs of Sweet Sensation, an eatery, on Monday, appeared before an Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court, under alleged theft worth N2.5 million .

The defendants: Kayode Abiodun, 46, (M) Wuraola Adedigba, 31(F); Aishat Ganiyu, 27(F); and Oluwatosin Ajayi, 36(F), a cashier, who all live at Mowe- Ibafo area, Ogun State, are standing trial over alleged conspiracy and stealing.

The offenses, the prosecutor said, contravened Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The prosecutor, ASP Raji Akeem told the court that the offences were committed between 2020 and 2022 at Sweet Sensation, Ikeja branch.

Akeem added that the defendants conspired and stole N2.5million belonging to their employer, Sweet Sensation. The alleged theft was uncovered when the eatery’s account was audited,Akeem said.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.The Chief Magistrate, Mrs. B. O Osunsanmi admitted each of the defendants to N300,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.Osunsanmi adjourned the case until Jan. 30 for mention.
