El Salvador Strikes Deal to Accept Deportees and Violent Criminals from U.S.

In a significant move aimed at enhancing security, El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele has agreed to accept deportees of all nationalities, including violent criminals imprisoned in the United States.

This unprecedented agreement was confirmed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who praised it as “the most extraordinary migratory agreement anywhere in the world.”

Furthermore, President Bukele has committed to taking back all Salvadoran MS-13 gang members residing illegally in the U.S., as well as criminal migrants from various countries, including members of Venezuela’s Tren de Aragua gang.

Tammy Bruce, a spokesperson for the State Department, described the development as a “tremendously successful meeting that will make both countries stronger, safer, and more prosperous.”

In an extraordinary gesture, El Salvador has also offered to house American criminals, including U.S. citizens and legal residents, in its prison facilities.

This move is seen as part of President Trump’s broader strategy to curb crime and illegal immigration while ensuring a smoother tenure with tighter state security.

Meanwhile, Canada and Mexico have also stepped up border protection efforts following high-level talks with President Trump.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has vowed to implement new security measures, while Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum confirmed that Mexico would deploy 10,000 National Guard troops to its border to combat drug trafficking.

These measures reflect a coordinated international effort to enhance security and reduce criminal activities.

Speaking in San Salvador, Rubio emphasized that the new agreement with El Salvador sets a precedent in international migration policies, reinforcing the Trump administration’s commitment to national security.
