The President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Bishop Francis Wale Oke, has strongly opposed reports of a planned ban on preaching inside commercial buses. He insisted that Christians would continue sharing the gospel despite any restriction.
Speaking in a viral video, the cleric urged Christians to keep preaching in buses, taxis and other public spaces. He argued that spreading the gospel remains a core duty for every believer.
Challenging the reported proposal, Oke declared, “I want to see how 65 million Christians will be imprisoned.”
He added that Christians should not be afraid of possible arrests, insisting they must continue preaching wherever people can hear the message.
The PFN president questioned why attention was being placed on street and bus evangelism instead of tackling violent crimes. He argued that security agencies should focus on criminals rather than people preaching peace.
Oke also warned those supporting the reported move to reconsider their actions. He said public office is temporary and reminded leaders that everyone would one day give an account before God.
The cleric further vowed that Christians would not stop evangelising. He said stadiums could become prisons if authorities decided to arrest believers for preaching in public transport.
The discussion remains focused on reports of a proposed restriction, while many await further clarification from lawmakers.
