Chelsea’s Defender ,Chilwell sustains injury,ruled out of world cup

According to Chelsea news ,it has been confirmed that left-back Ben Chilwell will miss the World Cup due to a significant hamstring injury after a undergoing a scan .

The 25-year-old sustained the injury during the Blues’ Champions League victory over Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday. The England defender will begin a period of rehabilitation before returning to first-team action.

“Following the injury sustained in our recent game against Dinamo Zagreb, Ben has undergone a scan on his hamstring.“Results show that Ben has suffered a significant injury and the defender is unfortunately expected to miss the World Cup.“Ben will now begin a rehabilitation programme with the club’s medical department.”The club statement read.

“Following my ACL injury I worked so hard to make sure I was ready for the World Cup.It has always been a dream of mine. Unfortunately, this won’t be possible following my scan results.“It’s very difficult to take at the moment but I believe everything happens for a reason. I will do all I can to get back playing for Chelsea as soon as possible. Thank you for the messages of support.”Chilwell said, reacting to the club’s statement.

His colleague, Recce James remains sidelined with a knee injury and is continuing his recovery as he aims to work his way back to full fitness in time for the World Cup this month. England’s opening game of the tournament is against Iran on November 21.

The defender has missed Chelsea’s last six fixtures since coming off against AC Milan on October 11 and will not feature for the Blues again until December. A club statement on Monday revealed that he is continuing his rehabilitation programme in Dubai this week
