Abia Police Fire Inspector Over Unethical Misconduct

The Abia State Police Command has dismissed a mobile police officer, Inspector Kufere Moses, over misconduct, reinforcing its stance on professionalism and discipline within the force.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen Chinaka, confirmed that the officer was officially dismissed on February 21, 2025.

He was previously serving at Mopol 55 PMF, Aba, and had been attached to a security detail at a UBA bank branch in Aba.

Following his dismissal, he was de-kitted, and all police accoutrements were retrieved.

The decision was made after an administrative disciplinary process, as the officer was found guilty of “discreditable conduct and offences against discipline.”

However, the specifics of his misconduct were not disclosed.

The Abia State Commissioner of Police, Danladi Isa, emphasized that the command would not tolerate any form of unethical behavior among officers.

He reassured the public that maintaining professionalism and trust in the force remains a top priority.

“Under my leadership, the command remains committed to the Inspector General of Police’s vision of ensuring a professionally competent, service-driven, rule-of-law-compliant, and people-friendly police force,” Isa stated.

Furthermore, he stressed that officers who fail to uphold the ethical standards of the police force will face appropriate disciplinary actions.

The Abia State Police Command has continuously emphasized the importance of public trust in law enforcement.
