Ghanian Former President, Jerry Rawlings is dead. He died of Coronavirus this morning the 12th of November 2020 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, Ghana.
Late Jerry John Rawlings was a former Ghanaian military leader and subsequent politician who led the country from 1981 to 2001 and also for a brief period in 1979. He led a military junta until 1992, and then served two terms as the democratically elected President of Ghana.
J. Rawlings was also the founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and he was the first president of the Fourth Republic. He was re-elected in 1996 for four more years.
Jerry Rawlings died on Thursday morning the 12th of November 2020 of Coronavirus complications.
He was born the 22nd of June, 1947 in Accra Ghana. He was 73-year-old.
He is survived by a wife and four children.
