Professional wrestling fans are mourning the death of AEW star PAC, whose real name was Benjamin Satterley.
The English wrestler died at 40, with All Elite Wrestling confirming the news on Sunday.
The announcement came just one day after PAC competed at AEW’s All Out event near Chicago.
AEW said Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004, he later became known for his exciting high-flying style and strong performances.
In its statement, AEW said, “A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organizations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.”
The company added that “Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history.”
Before joining AEW, Satterley wrestled in WWE as Neville, he became known for his aerial moves and the nickname “The Man That Gravity Forgot.”
PAC also made history as the first AEW All-Atlantic Champion. He later won the AEW World Trios Championship with Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta.
His final reported match came at All Out on September 26. He faced Andrade El Ídolo in an AEW National Championship match.
The cause and circumstances of his death have not been announced.
Tributes have since come from wrestlers, promotions and fans across the wrestling world.
