A Nigerian woman, Ms Dooshima, has appealed to FrieslandCampina WAMCO over concerns about some milk products.
Dooshima said Nigerian families have trusted the company’s brands for decades.
She is now asking the company to address reports about questionable milk products found in the market.
The concerns involve popular brands such as Peak Milk, Three Crowns, Olympic and Coast Milk.
In an open letter, Dooshima said many Nigerians grew up consuming these products.
She added that parents have continued the same tradition with their children.
However, she said recent reports have left consumers worried about product safety.
According to Dooshima, consumers previously assumed questionable milk products were simply fake.
She claimed concerns now include products reportedly believed to be genuine. Her appeal has therefore called for clearer information from the company.
She said Nigerian families need reassurance about products they have trusted for many years.
In her open letter, she wrote:
“On behalf of every Nigerian mother and family, I’m writing this open letter to FrieslandCampina WAMCO, the makers of Peak Milk, Three Crowns, Olympic and Coast Milk.
Peak Milk has been around for more than 70 years, our mothers trusted these brands and handed them down to us, and now we are about to hand them over to our children.
Suddenly, something appears to have gone wrong with these products we have trusted for decades.
At some point, we made excuses that perhaps some people were producing fake milk, but now, we have come to realise that, alongside the fake products in the market, some of the products that have gone bad are reportedly original products from your brand.
At this point, we are scared, we are asking questions, and we deserve answers.”
The Peak Milk safety concerns raised by Dooshima have drawn attention to consumer questions.
She wants FrieslandCampina WAMCO to clarify the reports and address worried consumers.
