The family of veteran Yoruba actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has appealed for urgent medical help.
His daughters, Lima and Kira Taiwo, made separate emotional appeals while seeking further treatment for their father.
They said the 66-year-old actor was diagnosed with stage-four cancer and needs immediate medical attention.
Lima said the family only discovered the seriousness of his condition about three weeks ago.
“We didn’t even know until like three weeks ago.”
She said the family was seeking medical support rather than financial donations.
“We’re not here to ask for money. Nobody’s here to ask for money.”
Lima explained that hospitals had reportedly stopped treating the actor and urged specialists to intervene.
“He has cancer and it’s really, really bad. And the hospitals are refusing to treat him. At least, please, give this man a chance.”
Kira also confirmed the severity of the actor’s condition in a separate video shared online.
“He has cancer and is in stage 4. The hospital is saying that they cannot treat him again, like they can’t give him chemo again.”
She appealed directly to hospitals, cancer specialists and medical professionals who could assist her father.
“If you can treat my daddy, if you can start chemo for him, whether it’s medical or herbs, please, I’m begging you guys.”
Kira also thanked Senator Yayi for supporting the family and helping with medical expenses.
She became emotional while describing her father’s condition and said he had expressed his fear of dying.
“He’s saying that he doesn’t want to die. Please, I’ve never seen my daddy in that kind of pain before.”
Ogogo has spent over four decades in Yoruba cinema and has appeared in numerous Nigerian films.
