A major police operation carried out across seven states has led to the rescue of two abducted children, the arrest of 15 suspected criminals and the recovery of weapons, stolen vehicles and other items linked to crime.
The latest security operation, announced by the Nigeria Police Force, highlights a coordinated effort to tackle violent crime and improve public safety. Moreover, officers carried out intelligence-led raids in Bauchi, Gombe, Ondo, Enugu, Imo, Ebonyi and Akwa Ibom states within the last 24 hours.
The arrests comes as security agencies continue to intensify efforts against armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping and other criminal activities. Meanwhile, police have vowed to sustain similar operations nationwide.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Okokon Inedu, disclosed the development while giving an update on recent operations across the country.
According to him, the coordinated raids resulted in the rescue of two children and the arrest of 15 suspects linked to different criminal offences.
The Police operations also led to the recovery of a stolen Toyota Yaris, two locally made firearms, eight motorcycles, one tricycle, housebreaking tools and suspected illegal substances.
Furthermore, police confirmed that efforts are ongoing to arrest other suspects who escaped during the operations.
In Bauchi State, officers successfully rescued two four-year-old children identified as Nathaniel Daniel and Fatima Abdullahi after an attempted abduction.
The children were rescued unharmed and reunited with their parents.
Police also arrested the suspect, Bala Saidu Mohammed, in connection with the incident.
In Gombe State, officers recorded several breakthroughs during separate operations.
One suspect, Micah Nuhu, was arrested over alleged armed robbery and causing serious injuries.
A stolen purse was recovered during the operation.
In another raid, Nasiru Aminu and Jamiu Muhammad were arrested with 39 master keys and a screwdriver believed to have been used for housebreaking.
Meanwhile, officers also recovered a stolen Toyota Yaris after its owner, Sani Ahmed, was allegedly attacked and thrown out of the moving vehicle.
The victim received medical treatment, while investigations continue to track the fleeing suspects.
In Ondo State, operatives of the Vehicle Crime Recovery Unit arrested five suspects during separate operations.
Two of them were identified as suspected cult members.
Police also recovered suspected Indian hemp and other illegal substances during a raid on a criminal hideout.
Furthermore, investigators identified an alleged cult leader and the group’s armourer, who remain on the run.
In Enugu State, officers arrested two suspected cult members during an operation at Banana Estate.

Eight motorcycles, one tricycle and several sachets containing suspected illegal substances were recovered after other suspects fled.
Meanwhile, police working alongside military personnel and local vigilantes arrested a robbery suspect in Imo State.
A locally made pistol and one spent cartridge were recovered during the operation.
Investigators said efforts are ongoing to arrest another suspect who escaped.
Similarly, police arrested a suspected armed robber in Ebonyi State following credible intelligence.
A locally made double-barrel pistol and one live cartridge were recovered.
In Akwa Ibom State, officers rearrested a robbery suspect who allegedly attacked a resident with a dagger after escaping from an earlier arrest by local residents.
According to CSP Okokon Inedu, intelligence gathering and stronger collaboration with other security agencies remain central to the police strategy.
