Churchill Denies Marriage to Rosy Meurer, Calls Divorce Claims Baseless

Fresh controversy has surfaced around businessman Olakunle Churchill and actress Rosy Meurer, as claims about their relationship status take a new turn.

Churchill has publicly denied reports of a divorce, stating clearly that no legally recognised marriage ever existed between them.

In a statement shared on Instagram, Churchill addressed the issue directly. He explained that their relationship did not include any formal wedding ceremony.

He wrote, “The reports circulating online about a supposed divorce between myself and Roseline Meurer are completely false. There is no truth to them, and they should be treated as such.”

Moreover, he clarified that what took place was only an introduction ceremony. According to him, no legal process was involved that would qualify the relationship as a marriage.

“There was no legally recognized marriage. There was no church wedding and no court wedding. What took place was an introduction. Therefore, the idea of a ‘divorce’ is baseless from the outset,” he added.

Meanwhile, Churchill also raised concerns about reports suggesting legal proceedings. He stated that he was never served any court documents, questioning the credibility of such claims.

Furthermore, he criticised what he described as misinformation and poor handling of legal matters.

“I am 100% sure that individuals without proper experience in the media space are advising Rosy incorrectly, alongside legal practitioners who operate under a mango tree without due process and claim to produce divorce documents within 24 hours,” he said.

In addition, Churchill questioned the timeline of the alleged legal process.

“Looking at the alleged hearing and judgment dates, I am left asking: is this even possible in Nigeria?” he stated.

She described her return as a “rebirth” and a new phase in her career.

However, Churchill also reflected on his past relationship with actress Tonto Dikeh. He noted that their issues had been resolved privately.

“If Tonto offended anyone, it should be me alone and if I offended anyone, it should be Tonto. However, we have both chosen to forgive each other,” he said.

He also addressed public perception about Rosy’s role in his life. According to him, her presence should not be exaggerated beyond what it was.

“I do not agree with the narrative that Rosy “stood by me” in a way that should now be exaggerated,” he added.
