Mali Crisis Deepens as Defence Minister Reportedly Killed in Attack

Mali has been thrown into shock after reports emerged that its Defence Minister, Sadio Camara, has been killed in a violent attack.

The reported death of the 47-year-old military leader followed an attack on his residence in Kati. This area is known as a strong military base near Bamako.

According to sources, a car bomb was used during the assault.

Meanwhile, multiple military sites were attacked almost at the same time. These incidents were recorded in Bamako, Gao, Kidal, and Sevare. The scale of the operation suggests careful planning. L

Meanwhile, interim President Assimi Goïta has been reported safe. He is said to be operating from a secured location. Authorities have not released full details of the incident.
