A shocking security incident unfolded in Los Angeles after a woman allegedly fired several gunshots at singer Rihanna’s residence in Beverly Crest.
Authorities confirmed that the suspect has been taken into custody following the alarming incident.
According to police reports, the shooting occurred on Sunday afternoon, March 8, around 1:21 p.m. The property is located on the 9500 block of Heather Road, a quiet and upscale neighborhood known for housing several celebrities.
The Rihanna Beverly Hills shooting has drawn widespread attention online because the global music star was reportedly inside the house at the time of the attack. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.
Officials from the Los Angeles Police Department said the suspect arrived at the residence in a vehicle before opening fire. Investigators believe that multiple rounds were discharged toward the property.
According to the LAPD, the woman fired between seven and nine rounds using an AR-15-style rifle. At least four of those rounds reportedly struck the house.
Police said the suspect, believed to be in her 30s, briefly stopped outside the home before firing the shots. After the shooting, the vehicle quickly sped away from the scene.
However, law enforcement officers were able to locate the suspect’s vehicle shortly afterward. The car was reportedly found about eight miles, or roughly 12 kilometers, away from the residence.
Consequently, the woman was taken into custody without further incident. Authorities have not yet released her identity to the public.
Meanwhile, investigators were seen examining the property following the shooting. Reports indicated that an Airstream trailer parked in the driveway was also inspected as part of the investigation.
The Rihanna Beverly Hills shooting is now being treated as a serious criminal case. Officials confirmed that detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division will handle the investigation.
Furthermore, law enforcement sources said investigators are trying to determine the motive behind the shooting. At this stage, it remains unclear whether the suspect had any prior connection to the singer.
