Reality TV star and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Maria Chike Benjamin, has finally addressed long-standing claims that she broke up a marriage.
In a recent podcast interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Maria responded directly to the accusations. Moreover, she insisted that the public narrative surrounding her relationship has been misunderstood.
The Maria Chike home wrecker allegation has trailed the reality star for years. However, she now says the claims do not reflect the truth of what happened.
Speaking candidly, Maria explained that when her relationship began, she had no knowledge of any existing marriage.
“I wasn’t aware that he was married when we started dating,” she said.
She added that she does not feel pressured to share every detail of her personal life.
“I don’t owe people my personal life. I am not a saint and I’m nobody’s role model because I’m for me. Whoever loves me can then decide to follow my steps,” she stated.

Her remarks come amid renewed online discussions about her marriage to Kelvin Anene.
Maria strongly rejected the label that has followed her.
“I am going to stand by this, and this is the gospel truth, I didn’t destroy any marriage,” Maria said.
Furthermore, she stressed that she understands the emotional impact of infidelity. “I have never and would never do that. I am also a woman and I know how it feels when a man is having an affair.”
Nevertheless, the Maria Chike home wrecker allegation appears to be a chapter she wants to close. By addressing it publicly, she has taken control of her narrative.
