The Burna Boy tour backlash has intensified after a series of controversies sparked anger both online and offline.

The trouble began on November 12 during his concert at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.

The singer stopped his performance and ordered the removal of a fan he accused of sleeping near the stage.

The moment was filmed, and it spread quickly across social platforms.

Moreover, the video drew heavy reactions from viewers who found his response harsh.

The fan, identified as Chaltu Jateny, later said she had attended the show to cope with grief after the death of her daughter’s father.

Her explanation triggered even more sympathy.

Furthermore, many felt the artiste should apologise for what they called an insensitive outburst.

By the next weekend, the controversy seemed to affect attendance.

His November 22 show in Houston recorded visible empty seats.

Critics linked the turnout to the Colorado incident and to past comments made by the singer.

In one viral livestream, Burna Boy stated that he was only interested in fans “who have money,”.

In addition, his Houston performance sparked fresh reactions when another concertgoer was filmed sleeping during his set.

Two upcoming tour dates, earlier scheduled for November 28 and December 1, were announced as cancelled.

The cancellations fueled talk that the backlash had affected the tour’s momentum.

International celebrities have also spoken out.

Eminem described the Colorado moment as “not cool,” while streamer Ryan Garcia said the empty seats show that “life can humble anyone quickly.”

Meanwhile, online discussions continued, with some Nigerians urging the singer to take responsibility for his behaviour.

However, not every voice joined the criticism. A supporter argued that Burna Boy remains “too important to the culture,” adding that he represents the creative dreams of many Nigerians.

Many fans hope he will address the concerns directly, as the controversy continues to shape public opinion around his U.S. tour.
