Naomi, 37, shared the news live in the ring while confirming she is seven weeks pregnant.

In an emotional segment, she reluctantly relinquished her Women’s World Championship, promising to return stronger after her maternity journey.

“I’ll be back in nine months to reclaim my place in this division,” she said to loud cheers.

The moment was celebrated backstage by WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H, who posted a video with the couple.

“Couldn’t be happier for @TheTrinity_Fatu & Jimmy @WWEUsos! Some things matter more than championships,” he wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

The announcement was further explained on Stephanie McMahon’s What’s Your Story podcast, where Naomi revealed she learned about the pregnancy on August 10 while traveling.

She admitted the news came as an unexpected blessing given her past fertility struggles.

“On top of being 37 and only having one ovary, we thought that naturally I couldn’t anymore,” Naomi explained.

“I found out Sunday, called him, and then stressed about having to tell work because of where I am right now as the champion. Of all times.”

Naomi’s pregnancy is considered high risk due to her age and medical history.

She previously underwent an oophorectomy before her WWE debut in 2012 and a myomectomy in 2017.

Despite the challenges, she reassured fans that things are going well. “Everything is looking good. We’re off to a good start,” she shared with optimism.

Her husband, Jimmy Uso, revealed that Naomi initially felt guilty about letting her fans down, but she has since embraced the joy of the moment. “It’s a lot to process, but I’m happy,” Naomi said.

The announcement sparked plenty of reactions across the wrestling world. Women’s Intercontinental Champion Becky Lynch humorously compared Naomi’s situation to her own 2020 pregnancy, jokingly calling her “irresponsible” in a lighthearted nod.

Meanwhile, many fans highlighted how Naomi’s reign had been one of the strongest of her career.

She captured the Women’s World Championship in July and was enjoying one of her most celebrated runs before stepping aside.
