A terrifying accident at Green Mountain Park in Taif, Saudi Arabia, has left 23 people injured after a major ride collapsed mid-air.
The tragic incident happened on the evening of Wednesday, July 31, 2025, during full operation of the park.
The ride involved was called 360 Degrees — a pendulum-style attraction that swings riders in circular motion.
Eyewitnesses said the fun turned into horror when the central pole suddenly cracked, split into two, and sent the passenger-loaded gondola crashing to the ground.
A video currently circulating online shows the moment the ride broke.
Initially, it captured thrilled screams, but within seconds, panic broke out as the ride snapped mid-air.
People could be heard screaming while bystanders rushed to help.
According to local reports, some passengers were thrown from their seats during the collapse.
Others were injured by debris and impact force. Eyewitnesses shared that a cracking sound was heard before the pole snapped and flung parts across the area.

One witness cited by Khaleej Times explained, “The pole recoiled at high speed before collapsing, striking people on the other side of the ride.”
Authorities responded immediately, securing the site and providing medical help.
Many of the injured were young men and women. Some sustained critical injuries, while others were treated for broken bones and trauma.
Prince Saud bin Nahar, the Governor of Taif, has since shut down the entire recreational facility.
In a swift move, he ordered a detailed investigation into the mechanical failure.
“The investigation will ensure accountability and check whether safety protocols were followed,” the Taif Governorate said in a statement reported by Saudi Gazette.
Meanwhile, social media users have flooded platforms with reactions.
A user named Nelson wrote, “If no be madness wetin go carry me go risk my life when I have village people.”
Another comment by Pius Marvellous read, “Una go dey risk life, dey call am enjoyment.”
Footage from the scene shows shocked park visitors running in all directions.
Others are seen attending to the injured as emergency teams arrived.
The Green Mountain Park, located in the scenic Al Hada area of Taif, is a popular tourist destination in western Saudi Arabia.
However, this unfortunate incident has raised concerns about safety at amusement parks in the region.
