Former NCT member Moon Taeil has been sentenced to three years and six months in prison after being found guilty of aggravated rape.
The ruling was delivered on July 10, 2025, by a South Korean court after the singer pleaded guilty to the crime.
Taeil was indicted after being accused of raping an intoxicated Chinese tourist in June 2024.
The court found sufficient evidence, and his guilty plea further solidified the outcome.
In addition to the prison term, the court ordered Taeil to undergo 40 hours of sexual violence education.

Furthermore, he must register as a sex offender, which means his details will be made available within his community.
Moreover, the court ruled that Taeil is banned from working with children or youths for the next five years.
Taeil, once a popular face in the K-pop industry, gained global attention as a member of NCT, a South Korean boy band.
He was celebrated for his powerful vocals and even broke a Guinness World Record in 2021 for the fastest time to reach one million Instagram followers.
However, his career took a dramatic downturn after the rape allegations emerged.
Meanwhile, many believe this case is a bold step in ensuring accountability, especially among celebrities who often enjoy fan-driven protection.
