The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, has publicly called on President Bola Tinubu to disclose the long-delayed forensic audit report on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), asserting that the document implicates former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi.
Wike made headlines again by pledging to resign if the audit fails to confirm the alleged wrongdoing.
Speaking on Politics Today on Channels Television, the minister responded to Amaechi’s corruption allegations and added new claims against the former minister’s family.
According to Wike, Amaechi’s wife received N4 billion monthly from the NDDC to train Niger Delta women.

“Amaechi’s wife was not an industrialist… Every month, got N4 billion to train Niger Delta women. That is N48 billion in one year alone, and the forensic audit report is there,” Wike stated.
However, Wike says the report has been deliberately delayed and suppressed.
“Let Mr President please do us a favour to release that document. Former Attorney General, Malami, killed that document to protect those who were concerned,” he added.
In addition to the missing audit report, Wike to resign has become a trending topic, as he emphasized his personal stake in the matter.
“If what I am saying is not in the document, I will resign as Minister of the FCT. I don’t worship office,” Wike proclaimed.
Moreover, he didn’t hold back in criticizing Amaechi on education and character grounds.
Wike challenged Amaechi’s qualifications and questioned his claim that a senator gifted him a Rolls-Royce.
“The vehicle was given by a contractor who was executing about -0 percent of the projects in Rivers State,” he noted, highlighting the potential conflict of interest.
Meanwhile, Wike contrasted his own upbringing with Amaechi’s, saying he does not come from a poor background and has “sophisticated taste.”
He sought to draw a clear distinction between his integrity and Amaechi’s alleged misconduct.
However, in the months ahead, all eyes will remain on the NDDC audit report, as Wike has said, only the truth can determine what happens next and his future as FCT minister will hang in the balance.
