Her achievement not only celebrates her academic excellence but also reinforces Nigeria’s growing influence in regional defence training and gender inclusion in security institutions.

Flt Lt Sanni has been a symbol of excellence since 2019 when she was decorated as the Nigerian Air Force’s (NAF) first female fighter pilot.

She earned this title after completing rigorous flight training in the United States, setting her apart as a pioneer in a male-dominated field.

Since earning her wings, Sanni has flown the Alpha Jet and also served as an instructor pilot on the Super Mushshak.

Her work in mentoring young pilots speaks to her leadership qualities and commitment to strengthening NAF’s operational capacity.

Kafayat Sanni’s GAFCSC awards are a powerful recognition of her continued contribution to both Nigeria’s air force and the broader military community.

Her performance has also reflected positively on the Nigerian Air Force’s ongoing investment in talent and human capital development.

Moreover, the achievement is in line with the vision of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, who has emphasized empowering personnel and promoting gender equality in the force.

Her triumph at GAFCSC stands not just as a personal win, but also a national celebration of grit, intelligence, and the growing visibility of women in military leadership roles.
