NFF Supports Grieving Nwabali with ₦20M for Parents’ Burial

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has extended a helping hand to Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following the tragic loss of both his parents.

The federation reportedly donated N20 million to support him in preparing for their burial.

Nwabali, who is currently mourning, lost his father months ago, and just recently, his mother also passed away.

This double loss has left the football star in deep sorrow.

His absence from the national team’s trip to Russia was granted on compassionate grounds.

A respected football photographer, known as Pooja, broke the news via social media.

In his words, “NFF has supported Super Eagles GK, Stanley Nwabali with N20M for his parents burial ceremony. He was excused for the Russia trip cos of this.”

This act of generosity by the NFF has not only drawn attention to Nwabali’s heartbreaking loss but also highlighted the importance of supporting players beyond the field.

In moments like these, the human side of professional sports shines through.

Earlier this year, after the death of Nwabali’s father, the NFF sent heartfelt condolences.

The Federation’s President, Mohammed Sanusi, described the loss of a parent as “a deeply sorrowful experience.”

When the news of Nwabali’s mother’s passing broke, the NFF once again sent its sympathies.

In a brief note, the Federation encouraged the goalkeeper to remain strong through this painful period.

The support didn’t just end with kind words. The N20 million gesture has reminded many that real support goes beyond sympathy it also means standing by people when it matters most.
