“Many Have Died Avoiding Salt” – Pastor Chris

Lagos-based preacher Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has triggered heated debate after urging his congregation to rethink medical advice about salt intake.

During a service on May 4, the popular pastor claimed that avoiding salt completely could be harmful and suggested many illnesses might be linked to such advice.

The message was delivered during a sermon where Oyakhilome played video clips of white doctors reportedly disputing claims that salt is bad for the human body.

According to him, trusting medical professionals without personal discernment has led many people to serious health conditions.

“We listen to the so-called professionals and many have d!ed listening to them,” he said. “Think how many people have suffered strokes and all kinds of ailments because they listen to their doctor.”

He emphasized that he once shared that belief until he began to rely on spiritual guidance through prayer.

“I thought so myself too but this is why I talk to you about praying in tongues,” he added. “From praying in tongues, the spirit of God talks and guides me. I speak in tongues and solutions come.”

Moreover, the pastor suggested that salt is often unknowingly used in hospitals during treatment.

He claimed that while patients are advised to avoid salt, they are unknowingly being given it in processed forms.

“You need salt, more salt than less salt,” Oyakhilome said. “All the sick people being treated in the hospital, they are giving them salt but they don’t know.

They repackage it and sell it to you in different forms.”

The viral message was further backed by a biblical reference.

He cited Mark 9:50, quoting Jesus’ words: “Salt is good.” According to Oyakhilome, the scripture serves as a reminder of the importance of salt in one’s life, both physically and spiritually.

Meanwhile, reactions have been mixed across social media platforms.

While some praised the pastor for opening their eyes to what they consider a suppressed truth, others raised concerns about the health implications of disregarding medical advice.

A social media user noted, “This can cause confusion. Many rely on their doctors, and hearing this may push them to make harmful decisions.”

Furthermore, they urge the public to seek professional guidance, while also being aware of personal health needs and unique medical histories.

In conclusion, the message shared by Pastor Chris has raised valid questions about how much people rely on professionals without verifying information.

Therefore, it’s not just about taking more salt or less it’s about understanding your body, asking questions, and getting clarity from trusted sources.
