A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Yusuf Dingyadi, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to reconsider his administration’s economic policies to alleviate the suffering of Nigerians.
He emphasized that the federal government’s failure to address basic needs has deepened poverty, hunger, and insecurity across the country.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Dingyadi noted, “President Tinubu’s government appears more focused on introducing policies that exacerbate agony and suppress Nigerians.”
He further stressed the need for the administration to shift focus toward providing relief, adding, “Most members of the National Assembly have abandoned measures to improve the lives of Nigerians, becoming more of a burden on the survival of ordinary citizens.”
Dingyadi also highlighted the impact of insecurity on food production, particularly in Northern states such as Zamfara, Sokoto, and Kaduna, where farmers can no longer operate safely.
He urged Tinubu to implement effective strategies to address economic and security challenges, stating, “The current system has placed greater suffering and burdens on citizens, with many struggling to make ends meet… As leaders, you should demonstrate how things are done so that people can follow and benefit.”
