Kelly Okungbowa, chairman of the recovery committee, announced that three vehicles—a Hilux van and two Toyota Hiace buses—were retrieved within 24 hours of the committee’s formation.

Among the discoveries was one of the buses, which contained undelivered palliatives, including bags of garri and rice meant for Edo citizens.

Okungbowa commended whistleblowers for their tips, which led to the recoveries, and assured the public of the committee’s commitment to reclaiming all missing vehicles.

“We appeal for more information as the whistleblowers will be handsomely rewarded,” he stated. He further emphasized the importance of safeguarding public resources, noting, “This is not private property but the property of Edo citizens, and it is not good for a private individual to steal government property.”

The committee has been given a two-week timeline to complete its task, with hopes of holding individuals accountable and restoring public trust.
