Tragedy as Grammy-Winning Producer Omen Brown Found Dead

 

The music world has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Grammy award-winning producer Sidney “Omen” Brown, aged 49.

His passing has left fans and industry colleagues in shock, with many describing it as both painful and unexpected.

According to TMZ, Omen Brown’s body was discovered on September 13, 2025, inside his Harlem, New York apartment.

His absence at work raised concerns after a staff member noticed he had missed his shift and contacted his family.

That call led to the heartbreaking discovery.
Authorities confirmed that the NYC medical examiner will carry out an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.

At the time of writing, the circumstances surrounding his passing remain unclear.

With Drake, Brown co-produced Shut It Down featuring The-Dream in 2009, further cementing his reputation as a hitmaker.

His work with Ludacris on Tell It Like It Is contributed to the rapper’s Release Therapy album, which won the Grammy for Best Rap Album in 2007.

He also infused his touch into Rihanna’s 2016 album Anti, contributing to the worldwide smash Work.

With The Weeknd, he explored genre-bending sounds that showcased his versatility.

Brown even left a mark on Lil Wayne’s projects, further proving his adaptability across different music styles.

Born Sidney Brown, he was the son of Martha Brown and showed an early passion for both music and learning.

He earned a B.A. in sociology and music at Amherst College in 2013, before completing a master’s degree in theological studies at Boston University in 2016.
