TikTok Star Peller Claims He’s Receiving Death Threats Over #30DayRants Criticism

Controversial TikTok streamer Peller has alleged that he has been receiving death threats after urging Nigerians to stop participating in the viral #30DayRants challenge.

Peller, who faced widespread backlash for his stance, had warned that continuous criticism of poor governance on the platform could lead to a ban in Nigeria, affecting the livelihoods of many, including himself.

However, his remarks did not sit well with some users, resulting in intense online criticism and, allegedly, threats to his life.

During a recent livestream, Peller expressed fear for his safety, revealing that some individuals had threatened him with the same fate as fellow content creator Oloba Salo, who was shot in Lekki last year.

“I have been receiving death threats. Some people threatened to shoot me like they shot Salo in Lekki Phase 1. They asked me to watch my back when going out,” he said.

His statement has sparked mixed reactions, with some social media users condemning the threats while others insist that he should have been more cautious with his words.

The #30DayRants challenge has gained traction among Nigerian TikTok users, serving as a platform to vent frustrations over governance and societal issues.

However, Peller had earlier warned that authorities could perceive the movement as a threat, potentially leading to restrictions on TikTok within the country.

Furthermore, in response to the backlash, Peller hinted at withdrawing from further discussions, stating, “What is all these? I’m not talking again. Goodbye.”

However, Peller’s claims have fueled discussions about online safety, freedom of expression, and the growing influence of social media movements in Nigeria.
