Through her lawyers, Nana Akua Addo urged the public and media houses to stop sharing the videos, she said the footage is a serious invasion of her family’s privacy.

In the statement, the lawyers said, “These videos were leaked without our client’s knowledge and consent and are a deep violation of her privacy and that of her children who are all minors.”

They further urged media organisations to act responsibly while reporting the matter.

The lawyers also confirmed that the police have begun looking into the situation.

They said, “We are grateful for the timely intervention and responsiveness of Ghana Police and are confident in the competence of our court systems to stand up against domestic violence in our society.”

The statement comes amid widespread attention surrounding the Nana Akua Addo domestic violenceallegations online.

However, her lawyers have asked the public to avoid spreading the videos while the investigation continues.

They also said Nana Akua Addo would address the matter herself when the time is right.

The legal team added, “At the appropriate time our client will address all pertinent issues, in the meantime we ask that the media and the general public respect the privacy of the family as they deal with this difficult situation.”

For now, the actress and her family are relying on the ongoing investigation while asking the public to allow the authorities to handle the matter.
