Four notorious kidnappers has confessed to the killing of a retired Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and also a serving Lawmaker named DPO CSP Garkuwa and Hon Musa Mantel of the state house to assembly. They were arrested at Dass Local Government of Bauchi State for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and kidnappings by the IRT (Intelligence Response Team)of the Nigeria Police Force .
The syndicate key suspects, Hamishu Galadima aka Kan Wuka ,48 ,Abdulwahab Alhassan aka Emeka , Abdulwahab Ahmed aka Dan mama ,Hamidu Saleh confessed that they killed the Police officer after his retirement for making life tough and miserable for them by constantly searching for them, also killing the late lawmker and kidnapped his wives and children for failing to assist them with funds after making several requests for it.
The led Intelligence Police Team, DCP Tunji Disu and his officers arrested the suspects after a coordinated operation making the suspects confess their roles and individual involvement concerning all the kidnappings and armed robbery in Plateau ,Bauchi and Kaduna villages and market roads on Mondays .The confession was sumed up as they also burgled the room of one Suleiman Shuaibu known as Shayi at a native of Dass Local Council about 01.15hrs abducting six members of the man’s family.
The key suspect Hamishu said that his gang killed the divisional police officer because he was in the habit of always searching for them every time after any crime incident was reported for the protection and security of the natives .On the killing of the lawmaker, he said that the criminal gang eliminated the man for refusing to assist them with funds after several requests were made of him from his gang members whereas he always assisted others.
“We entered the house of the honourable member House of Assembly Hon.Musa Mante and killed him inside his room and took physical cash of two million naira (N2,000000).”And we kidnapped his two wives and took them to Dutsin Miagoshi Igala and the victims spent almost four days in capitivity and we demanded for a ransomel of thirty-five million naira (N35,000000)”.
While the killing of the lawmaker was operated by him guarding the late man’s gate while the others through the house roof , took his money and killed him. The other suspect Abdulwahab known as Emeka (an ex-convict arrested for drug offense by NDLEA , imprisoned twice for 2yr jail terms and was released after serving jail terms) also further confessed that they worked with the gang leader in the various kidnapping cases interracted and know all the criminals terrorising the villages in Bauchi,but he was not present during the carried operation as he said he only provided info needed for his capture .
The suspects admitted that that they had engaged the late lawmaker in an argument about his ‘lopsided’ constituency projects , shooting him after he couldn’t provide any satisfactory answer. On the exhibits recovered by the Police team, were one AK 47 assualt rifle and assorted range of ammunitions .All weapons ,arms and ammunition in the hands of kidnappers or bandits were ordered to be mopped immediately by The Inspector-General of Police IGP Usman Alkali Baba for security of lives of citizens of the country.
Force Spokesman CSP Muyiwa Adejobi has assured that all the suspects are going to be prosecuted in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the nation.
