The viral footage of their act of courage has since gripped the world.
The earthquake, described as the strongest in the region since 1952, rocked the Kamchatka Peninsula earlier today, Wednesday, July 30.
Yet, while buildings trembled and panic spread across communities, a surgical team inside the hospital stayed focused on saving a life.

However, the medical team remains calm. One surgeon steadies the patient while others continue with the procedure, showing no signs of fear.

The patient, whose name was not released, has been confirmed to be stable. This was shared by Oleg Melnikov, the head of the region’s Ministry of Health.
“The patient is fine,” Melnikov said, reassuring the public after the dramatic clip went viral.
Russian scientists have called this undersea earthquake the most powerful in over 70 years.
The quake originated offshore but caused buildings to sway across the peninsula. Despite its magnitude, the staff at the Kamchatka Oncology Centre refused to let the quake distract them from their duty.
