Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) stormed Proxy Night Club in Victoria Island, Lagos, arresting more than 100 people including popular socialite and club owner Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, better known as Pretty Mike.
The dramatic raid, carried out in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, followed credible intelligence that the nightclub was hosting what authorities described as a “drug party.”
The NDLEA said the operation, which began around 11 p.m. Saturday and concluded at 3 a.m. Sunday, was executed in line with its Standard Operating Procedures.
“NDLEA operatives, who were embedded at the party from 11:00 p.m. on Saturday, disrupted the gathering around 3:00 a.m. on Sunday in line with Standard Operating Procedures,” the agency’s statement read.
Cartons of illicit substances, including Loud a strong variant of cannabis and nitrous oxide (laughing gas), were recovered from both partygoers and storage areas within the club.
The agency confirmed that all arrested individuals have been taken into custody for screening, while seized exhibits were secured for further investigation.
Meanwhile, NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine weighing 3.60 kilograms concealed in cocoa butter body cream containers.

The illegal shipment, discovered on October 14, was bound for London, United Kingdom, aboard an Air Peace flight labeled as “personal effects.”
The operation led to the arrest of a cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the consignment.
Investigations spanning two weeks later uncovered a wider trafficking network.
According to NDLEA spokespersons, two more suspects were arrested Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, on October 18, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, the CEO of Mutiu Adebiyi & Co Travel Agency, who was apprehended at his Ikeja GRA office on October 20.
The agency stated that both individuals were part of an organised syndicate attempting to smuggle cocaine into the UK disguised as cosmetics exports.
In Badagry, officers arrested Jacob Ojugbele with 55kg of skunk and Amusa Oluwabukola with 121.3 litres of “skuchies”, a dangerous cocktail of blackcurrant, cannabis, and opioids.

Similarly, a mother of two, Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, described as a major distributor of Canadian and California Loudacross Lekki, Ajah, Ikoyi, Victoria Island, and VGC, was arrested on October 17.
NDLEA agents recovered 500 grams of Loud from her Lekki residence.
In Ikorodu, another operation led to the arrest of Ogunyabo Adenigbigbe at Solomade Estate, where 275 litres of skuchies were seized on October 23.
NDLEA reiterated its commitment to dismantling drug networks and curbing the rising abuse of psychoactive substances in Lagos.
The agency’s spokesperson said the coordinated operations demonstrate its zero-tolerance stance toward drug trafficking and public drug use.
“We will continue to pursue intelligence-led raids and surveillance on clubs, lounges, and other hotspots that promote the use or sale of illicit substances,” the statement added.
The NDLEA urged young Nigerians to stay away from drugs, warning that future operations will target venues that encourage the illegal trade.
