President Bola Tinubu has returned to Lagos after spending about four weeks outside Nigeria on a working vacation.
The President arrived from Paris on Tuesday aboard Nigerian Air Force One. The aircraft reached the presidential wing of Murtala Muhammed International Airport around 6:22pm.
Journalists at the airport were reportedly restricted from recording the President’s arrival.
Media access was limited as the aircraft moved toward the terminal.
Tinubu left Nigeria on August 30 for London to begin his annual leave. He later travelled to Paris, where he continued his official engagements.
During his stay in France, Tinubu met French President Emmanuel Macron, the two leaders also held a private dinner, according to the Presidency.
The President also met businessman Vincent Bolloré in Paris their discussions focused on investment in Nigeria’s creative and digital economy.
The Presidency had earlier said Tinubu would return after extending his working vacation by several days.
His return to Lagos comes ahead of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, Tinubu is expected to take part in activities marking the national celebration.
The President is expected to remain in Lagos through October 1, he is also scheduled to deliver the Independence Day national broadcast.
His return now shifts attention to the Independence Anniversary events scheduled for Lagos.
