The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into House on the Rock Pastor, Paul Adefarasin, after a video surfaced online allegedly showing him holding a gun-like object during an exchange with a road user.

The now-viral footage, which triggered a wave of social media criticism and public concern, showed the senior pastor in an unregistered vehicle seemingly confronting another individual while holding a metallic object.

Though the video was only seconds long, it stirred enough speculation to spark police involvement.

In response, Pastor Adefarasin voluntarily appeared at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja.

The case is currently being handled by detectives at the Command.

The Command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this development in a statement issued to the press.

“Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja and is currently being interrogated by detectives who have commenced investigation on the case since a video surfaced online showing the pastor holding a gun-like object against another road user, while driving in an unregistered vehicle,” Hundeyin said.

He further assured the public that the investigation would be conducted lawfully and that results would be made available when completed.

“The outcome of the investigation will be made public,” he noted, emphasizing that “no one is above the law.”

Meanwhile, Pastor Adefarasin has broken his silence through a statement shared across his verified social media accounts.

In his message, he denied the accusations outright. “I understand that a video is circulating that may have created a misunderstanding about an object in my hand. I want to categorically state that I did not point a firearm at anyone, nor was I in possession of a weapon,” he wrote.

Despite the pastor’s denial, the interrogation continues, this case is expected to not only clear doubts but also reinforce the principle.
