The Majority leader of Anambra House of Assembly, Nnamdi Okafor, reportedly slumped and died in his hotel room on Tuesday in South Africa.It was gathered that he went to the country on a retreat with other lawmakers from the state.Though,there has been no official statement from the Assembly as his death were blurred and it hasn’t been confirmed if he was I’ll before or after the trip.
Nnamdi Okafor was the representative of Awka 1 State Constituency in the Assembly.He was first elected in 2015 and was reeIected in 2019.
He served as the President of Anambra State Association (ASA-USA), South Florida Chapter from 2001 to 2008.He returned to Nigeria in 2011 to take part in the elections, as a member of the Anambra House of Assembly.He failed in his first effort but triumphed in 2015.
