The Nigeria Police Force has recorded fresh victories in its fight against crime after security operatives neutralised suspected bandits, rescued kidnap victims and arrested several criminal suspects across different states.
The latest Nigeria Police operations also led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, stolen vehicles, illicit drugs and other items believed to be connected to criminal activities. The coordinated operations were carried out between July 28 and July 30, 2026.
The security breakthroughs have highlighted renewed efforts by the police to weaken criminal networks.
In Katsina State, police operatives worked with members of the Vigilante Community Response Unit to stop a bandit attack.
A fierce exchange of gunfire followed during the operation. One suspected bandit was neutralised.
In addition, an AK-47 rifle and an operational motorcycle were recovered from the scene.
The State Criminal Investigation Department has already begun further investigations.
Similarly, police tactical teams in Sokoto State foiled another bandit attack after engaging the suspects in a gun battle.
Two suspected bandits were neutralised during the operation. Furthermore, officers recovered a locally made pistol, 27 rounds of live ammunition and two cutlasses.
Authorities confirmed that no security personnel or residents were injured during the encounter.
In another operation within Sokoto State, officers intercepted a stolen Toyota Prado SUV during a routine stop-and-search exercise.
The vehicle reportedly belongs to the Chief Judge of Sokoto State.
The suspect was arrested, while investigations remain ongoing.
Meanwhile, police tactical teams in Imo State rescued four kidnap victims who suffered gunshot wounds while in captivity.
Three locally made firearms were recovered during the rescue mission.
The victims were immediately taken to hospital for treatment.
However, security operatives have continued bush-combing operations to rescue other victims and arrest the fleeing kidnappers.
In Nasarawa State, anti-kidnapping operatives executed a search warrant at the residence of a suspected kidnapper.
Although the suspect escaped before officers arrived, a locally made pistol, illicit drugs, suspected illegally mined minerals and cash were recovered.
Efforts have been intensified to track down the suspect. Police also recorded additional successes in other parts of the country.
In Gombe State, officers rescued a suspected armed robber from an angry mob.
A cutlass and a motorcycle seat believed to be linked to the crime were recovered.
Moreover, detectives have continued efforts to arrest other suspects involved.
In Osun State, detectives arrested a suspect over the alleged murder of a 12-year-old boy.
The suspect remains in police custody as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, in Akwa Ibom State, intelligence-led operations resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug dealers.
Large quantities of suspected Indian hemp were recovered during the raid.
Investigators have also expanded efforts to identify and arrest other members of the criminal group.
The Nigeria Police Force confirmed that all the cases have been transferred to the respective State Criminal Investigation Departments for detailed investigations and possible prosecution.
