May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin,” Shehu tweeted.

He had served as military head of state from 1983 to 1985 and later led the country as a democratically elected president from 2015 to 2023.

Although, his health had seen steady improvement after leaving office in 2023, but things reportedly took a downturn again in April 2025.

In London, Buhari had been receiving medical care for some time. However, his death came as a shock to many.
