Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong warning to the United States over renewed nuclear talks with Iran.
He cautioned that Tehran cannot be relied upon to honour any agreement reached through diplomacy.
The warning was delivered during a high-level meeting on Tuesday with U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
This comes as Iran nuclear negotiations gain momentum again, drawing global attention.
According to a statement from the Israeli prime minister’s office, Netanyahu urged Washington to tread carefully.
He stressed that past experiences showed Iran often breaks its promises.
“He made clear his position that Iran has repeatedly proven that its promises cannot be trusted,” the statement said.
The meeting was attended by top Israeli officials. These included intelligence chief David Barnea, Defence Minister Israel Katz, and military leader Eyal Zamir.

Meanwhile, diplomatic activity has increased ahead of planned talks between Iran and the United States in Turkey. U.S. President Donald Trump has already warned of “severe consequences” if negotiations fail.
Israeli officials say the renewed push worries Tel Aviv. Moreover, the talks are unfolding at a time of rising regional tension and growing military movements.
Iranian sources have revealed that Washington is pushing three key demands. These include zero uranium enrichment, limits on Iran’s missile programme, and an end to support for proxy groups.
These conditions closely mirror Israel’s long-standing stance. However, Tehran has firmly rejected them, calling the demands an attack on its sovereignty.
In addition, Iranian officials have hinted that missile restrictions are harder to accept than nuclear limits.
The Iran nuclear negotiations are also taking place amid heightened military activity. The United States has increased its presence in the Middle East. An aircraft carrier and warships have already been deployed.
Therefore, fears of escalation remain high if diplomacy collapses. Furthermore, tensions have been worsened by Iran’s violent response to recent protests. Rights groups claim thousands were killed during the crackdown.
Iranian authorities, however, blame armed groups they allege are backed by Israel and the United States.
