Famous Nollywood actress and presenter Nancy Isime has opened up about her views on marriage.
Speaking candidly, the actress said she values character over wealth, stressing that kindness matters more to her than material success.
In a recent conversation with media personality Morayo Afolabi-Brown, Isime explained that her idea of an ideal partner is not shaped by money, status, or social class.
Instead, she said kindness is the foundation of any meaningful relationship she is willing to build.
Moreover, the actress disclosed that she feels ready to settle down, noting that age and life experience have shaped her priorities.
According to her, marriage is no longer a distant idea but something she is open to at this stage of her life.
“I am of marriage age. I am 34. Yes, I am a very attractive lady and men can desire me. But I have to choose what I settle with. First of all, I like kindness. I find kindness one of the most attractive traits,” she said.
Nancy Isime further explained that kindness is not just a preference but a requirement. However, she was quick to clarify that she does not mean surface-level gestures. She emphasized the need for sincerity and consistency in character.
“Before you can be my friend or even relate with me, not to talk of getting married to me, you have to be kind. And I don’t mean performative. I mean genuine kindness. Once you are kind, everything else can be worked on,” she added.
According to the actress, other shortcomings such as financial status or social standing can be improved with time and effort.
Therefore, she would rather choose a kind partner and grow together than settle for comfort without compassion.
Meanwhile, Isime’s comments were often described as relatable, inspiring, especially for young women navigating societal pressure around marriage.
