Grief have swept through Nollywood after two crew members were found dead at a movie location in Lekki, Lagos.
The tragic discovery was made on Saturday, February 7, at Evercare Hospital, which was being used as a filming site. The victims were identified as lighting director Ekemini “GeeTee” Imeh and his associate, Ayodeji Odediran.
The unexpected deaths have sparked a full police investigation. Moreover, questions continue to surround what happened inside the parked vehicle where they were found.
According to police sources, the men had arrived early to set up lighting equipment for the production. After completing their task, they reportedly entered a tinted Nissan vehicle to rest while waiting for filming to continue.
“They were later said to have entered a tinted Nissan vehicle to rest while awaiting further production activities for a movie reportedly directed by former Big Brother Naija housemate Boma,” a police source told Punch.

At about 11 am, breakfast was delivered to them inside the car. The air conditioning was said to be running at the time. However, as filming progressed, repeated calls to their phones went unanswered.
The source added, “While the filming was ongoing, calls to their phones went unanswered. It was after the filming ended around 8pm that their lifeless bodies were later found in the vehicle.”
Police reported disturbing details at the scene. One of the men was found foaming at the mouth. The other had blood stains around the nose and lips.
The bodies were moved to a morgue for further examination. In addition, CCTV footage from the location is currently being reviewed.
Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi confirmed that the matter has been escalated. She stated, “The case has been transferred … for further investigation while autopsy and toxicology examinations were being conducted to determine the cause of death.”
Imeh was known as a respected lighting expert and chief executive officer of a production company. He worked on major projects, including King of Boys, and music videos for artists such as Davido.
Meanwhile, authorities have not released an official cause of death.
