Retired actress Dalyce Curry, known for her iconic roles in films like The Blues Brothers, The Ten Commandments, and Lady Sings the Blues, has tragically passed away in the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, Forbes reported on Monday.
The 95-year-old Hollywood legend’s remains were found at her burned-down home in Altadena, California, authorities confirmed. 
Curry’s great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, revealed that she was last seen on the evening of January 7, after dropping Kelley off at home.
The next morning, Kelley attempted to check on her, but police barricades near the wildfire-affected area prevented her from accessing Curry’s property.
The family later searched for her at the Pasadena Civic Centre, a shelter for displaced residents, but their efforts proved unsuccessful.
Days later, officials confirmed that Curry’s remains were discovered amidst the wreckage of her destroyed property.
Sharing the heartbreaking news, Kelley wrote on Facebook, “About an hour ago, the coroner confirmed her remains were indeed found at the property. #RIPMOMMADEE.
We had a great run. She impacted my life in so many ways. This loss is devastating.”
Curry’s granddaughter, Loree Beamer-Wilkinson, reflected on her grandmother’s vitality and influence.
“She was very active. You wouldn’t think she was 95,” she said.
The retired actress’ death adds to the toll of the Los Angeles wildfires, which have claimed at least 24 lives, with many others displaced from their homes.
