Kim Kardashian Paris Robbery: Convicted Accomplice Dies After Trial

A French man recently convicted in connection with the 2016 armed robbery involving Kim Kardashian has passed away, just weeks after his trial concluded.

The man, identified as Didier Dubreucq, was one of eight people found guilty for their roles in the multi-million-dollar heist that shook global headlines nearly a decade ago.

Dubreucq was part of a group referred to by French media as “The Old School Gangsters” due to their age and criminal history.

His death was confirmed on Thursday, June 26, by a source close to the case.

According to reports, the 69-year-old had been battling lung cancer, which was diagnosed during his time in pre-trial detention.

He had reportedly been undergoing chemotherapy treatment while court proceedings were ongoing.

Some aspects of the crime, including the recovery of all stolen items and potential civil claims, remain unresolved.

The armed robbery took place overnight on October 2–3, 2016, inside a luxury hotel in Paris where Kardashian was staying during Fashion Week.

The gang, disguised as police officers, tied her up and locked her in a bathroom while they escaped with over \$10 million worth of jewellery.

Among the stolen items was a diamond ring believed to belong to her then-husband, rapper Kanye West.

Moreover, the robbery raised questions about how much information celebrities share online, as investigators believed Kardashian’s social media posts helped the gang track her movements.

Despite their recent convictions, the broader case remains partly open, especially concerning restitution and appeals.
