The Kano State government has shut down 26 private colleges of health technology operating illegally in different parts of the state.“ The proliferation of the schools, is detrimental to public health, educational development and efficiency of the entire health system”.The government said.
It was read in the statement that the ministry had noticed with serious concern, the incessant proliferation of illegal Private Heath Training Institutions (PHTIs) in the state without recourse to extant regulations governing the establishment and operation of such schools as specified by regulatory bodies and other relevant authorities.The statement informed the general public to take note of the instant shut-down of all illegal Health Training Institutions (HTIs) in the state, pending the outcome of necessary investigations.
