Jude Bellingham Faces 12-Match Ban for Allegedly Telling Referee ‘F*** You’

Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham is facing a possible 12-match ban after being sent off during his team’s 1-1 draw against Osasuna on Saturday.

The England international was shown a red card in the 39th minute by referee Jose Luis Munuera Montero for allegedly using foul and abusive language.

However, Bellingham has denied directing the words at the official, stating instead that his frustration was aimed at himself.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti defended his player, explaining,

“I think the referee did not understand Jude Bellingham’s English.

He said ‘f* off’, not ‘f* you’… that’s way different.”

The controversy has sparked debate, with Real Madrid now considering an appeal.

According to the Spanish FA’s disciplinary code, any player found guilty of “insulting, offending, or addressing match officials in offensive terms” could face a suspension ranging from four to 12 matches.

If the maximum penalty is enforced, Bellingham will miss crucial La Liga games against Girona, Betis, and Rayo Vallecano, as well as the first leg of Real Madrid’s Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Sociedad.

Meanwhile, discussions over the severity of the punishment continue, with many believing the incident has been blown out of proportion.

Regardless of intent, words spoken in the heat of the moment can have serious consequences, and this case serves as a reminder that accountability is key, especially for top athletes who serve as role models.

Furthermore, Real Madrid’s potential appeal could determine whether the young star faces an extended spell on the sidelines or returns sooner to help his team.

For now, the football world awaits the Spanish FA’s final decision, as Bellingham risks missing a significant portion of the season.
