Israel Agrees to Terms for 60-Day Gaza Ceasefire, Trump Says

It was announced on July 1 that Israel has agreed to the necessary conditions for a 60-day ceasefire in the Gaza war.

However, the initiative now depends on whether Hamas will accept the proposal. U.S. President Donald Trump shared the update, calling it a step forward in easing the ongoing conflict.

Trump posted on Truth Social that during the 60-day window, the United States would collaborate with all involved parties to “end the conflict.”

He emphasized the critical need for Hamas’s approval.

“I hope, for the good of the Middle East, that Hamas takes this Deal, because it will not get better – IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE,” Trump warned in his post.

According to Trump, representatives from Qatar and Egypt, who have played a key role in brokering peace efforts, are expected to deliver the deal to Hamas in the coming days.

This adds momentum to the diplomatic push.

Moreover, Trump confirmed that U.S. envoys recently held “a long and productive meeting” with Israeli officials.

However, no response has yet been issued from the Israeli government on the matter.

In addition, Trump had previously hinted at a ceasefire proposal just days before making this announcement.

He is scheduled to host Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Washington next week, with Gaza war negotiations high on the agenda.

Trump remains hopeful that an agreement will be finalized during that visit.

“He reiterated on Tuesday that he expects an agreement to be reached next week.”

The U.S. has been actively working for weeks to rally support around the plan, and hopes are now pinned on Hamas’s response.

If the ceasefire is accepted, it would offer a much‑needed pause in hostilities and provide breathing space for humanitarian relief in Gaza.

The proposed 60-day ceasefire may bring partial relief to civilians affected by the conflict.

Aid corridors could be reopened, and tense frontlines would hopefully see a significant reduction in violence.
