The tragic death of Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as Mohbad, left a deep void in the hearts of his fans and family.
However, in a surprising turn of events, his father, Joseph Aloba, shared how his life has been positively impacted since his son’s untimely passing on September 11, 2023, at just 26 years old.
In an emotional interview with media personality Akin Abolade, Joseph Aloba reflected on how his son’s death led to a series of unexpected blessings, although it remains a painful loss.
“Let me just say yes, my life got better after Mohbad’s death because he is my friend,” Joseph revealed.
“He had it in mind to do many things for me, but they didn’t allow him to do them. After his death, it was the spirit of Mohbad and that of God combined together that began to send people to assist me.”
Despite the immense grief, Joseph expressed a sense of gratitude as his life began to change in ways he hadn’t anticipated.
Compassionate Nigerians came forward, offering him gifts such as a car, a truck, and other valuable items that helped improve his circumstances.
In addition to these material blessings, Joseph also shared the struggles his son faced before his death.
He alleged that Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, and her family had significant control over the late artist’s property.
“They did a lot concerning that boy (Mohbad). All his landed property is in their possession.
Even the land he bought for me to build a church, I forced him to buy and mold the blocks on it, which was later used to bury him,” Joseph said, shedding light on the tensions that surrounded his son’s personal and professional life.
Joseph also reflected on Mohbad’s plans for the future, including a promise to buy him a house after the completion of his tour.
“The purchase was already paid for before his death,” he revealed.
Furthermore, Joseph spoke of how Mohbad’s birth marked a pivotal turning point in his own life.
The theft of money during Mohbad’s naming ceremony led Joseph to pursue a career in music, with Mohbad serving as his backup singer from the age of one.
Though the loss of his son remains a painful chapter, Joseph has come to see the death of Mohbad as a bittersweet blessing in disguise.
