How a Suspected Gun Runner Allegedly Vanished With ₦95 Million Meant for Bandits in Katsina

Fresh claims from Katsina State have stirred reactions after a suspected gun runner allegedly disappeared with ₦95 million meant to buy weapons for bandits.

The gun runner allegation emerged during an interview on NTA Hausa.

Abdullahi Aliyu, popularly known as General, alleged that the suspect collected the money from a bandit leader in Matazu Local Government Area.

He claimed the funds were meant to purchase high-grade firearms, but the suspect allegedly fled without delivering the weapons.

Speaking during the interview, Aliyu said the disappearance has created uncertainty among criminal groups operating in the area.

He also linked the incident to growing insecurity across nearby communities.

Aliyu further alleged that feared bandit leader Kachalla Maha recently withdrew from local peace agreements. According to him, the bandit leader has since imposed heavy livestock levies on residents.

The claims have generated mixed reactions on social media. One user, Francis Osanebi, wrote, “But the bandit leader supposed report the matter for police station.”
