Hollywood Icon Patricia Crowley Dies at 91, Just Days Before Birthday

 

Hollywood has lost one of its beloved stars. Patricia Crowley, best known for her role in Please Don’t Eat the Daisies and Dynasty, has died at the age of 91.

She passed away on Sunday, September 14, in Los Angeles, only two days before her 92nd birthday.

Her son, Jon Hookstratten, who is the Executive Vice President of Administration & Operations at Sony Pictures, confirmed the heartbreaking news.

He revealed that the veteran actress died of natural causes.

Crowley leaves behind her husband, Andy Friendly, whom she married in 1986.

Crowley first captured hearts with her role as Joan Nash in Please Don’t Eat the Daisies from 1965 to 1967.

In the sitcom, she played a newspaper writer married to Jim Nash, portrayed by Mark Miller, raising four lively boys.

Her mix of elegance and relatability made her one of the most admired TV moms of her generation.

Beyond sitcom success, Patricia Crowley enjoyed an enduring television career.

She starred in 65 episodes of Generations as Rebecca Whitmore between 1989 and 1990.

Furthermore, she appeared in 251 episodes of Port Charles from 1997 to 2003, where she played Mary Scanlon, a role that kept her in the hearts of soap opera fans for years.

 

In addition, she made a guest appearance on The Bold and the Beautiful in 2005 as Natalie DeWitt, proving her ability to remain relevant in Hollywood across dec  n ades.

Crowley also shined in the 1986 season of Dynasty, where she played Emily Fallmont, wife of Senator Buck Fallmont.

Her character was central to a dramatic storyline involving a secret affair that threatened the legitimacy of her son.

That role gave viewers one of the most suspenseful story arcs of the series.

Though Patricia Crowley is no longer here, her legacy remains intact.
